It was bulit by the Beneditines in the 10th century and remodelled several times until the final reconstruction which dates back to the 13th century. The facade has a rectangular shape, with three entrances to which correspond, in the second band, three rose windows. The two bands of the facade are divided between them by a frame with hanging arches. The interior of the Church, which was restored in 1954, has three naves separated by pillars , with a raised presbiterio, semicircular arcs and dome. These are six tombs from 14th-15th century and the remains of frescoes from the same period. The dome which for a certain period was also decorated with terracota enamels, owesits shape to a structure, now visible, consisting of a series of concentric steps. The Church of San Pietro is open everyday and can be freely visited, at the following times: from 8 A.M to 7 P.M
